Elite Base Treatment
Maxim XL® is a combination of
fludioxonil and mefenoxam and target pathogens include Pythium spp., Fusarium spp.
and seed rot fungi. The water-based formulation spreads over all parts of the kernel,
providing optimal coverage and protection. Apron XL® provides additional mefenoxam
for added Pythium spp. control. The two active ingredients have been classified as
‘reduced risk’ compounds by the Environmental Protection Agency. TrilexTM contains
the active ingredient trifloxystrobin and provides further improvement in control of
Fusarium spp. and Rhizoctonia under adverse conditions.

Poncho® 250
Poncho® 250, with the active ingredient clothianidin, is an insecticide that protects
both seed and seedling from wireworm, cutworm, white grub, seedcorn maggot, grape
colapspis, flea beetle (to the 4th true leaf), southern corn leaf beetle, chinch bug,
southern green stink bug, aphids, thrips and other insect pests through both systemic
and contact activity. Poncho® 250 has excellent water solubility and attraction to
plant lipids (oils) for maximum plant absorption. This allows for systemic as well as
contact activity. Poncho® 250 is a standard treatment with Select Seed YieldGard Plus
Hybrids, YieldGard Plus/RR2, YieldGard VT Triple, YieldGard VT
Rootworm, Herculex Xtra and Herculex Xtra/RR2 Hybrids. Talc or graphite should always be used
depending on equipment manufacturer’s recommendations. Graphite rates up to 4 Tbs. per
hopper fill are acceptable. Poncho® 250 must be ordered by December 15, 2007.

Poncho® 1250
Poncho® 1250, with a higher rate of clothianidin provides more effective control of tough
secondary insects such as cutworms and offers control of moderate infestations of corn
rootworm. Poncho® 1250 can be a good choice for control of corn rootworm in a required
refuge for YieldGard Plus Hybrids, YieldGard Plus/RR2, YieldGard VT
Triple, YieldGard VT Rootworm, Herculex Xtra, and Herculex Xtra/RR2 Hybrids. Talc or graphite should
always be used depending on equipment manufacturer’s recommendations. Graphite rates up to
4 Tbs. per hopper fill are acceptable. Talc rates may need to be doubled when planting
Poncho 1250 treated seed. Poncho® 1250 is sold on a non-cancelable, no-return basis and must
be ordered by December 15, 2007.
